The main motivation for organizing Model Islamic Kingdom (MIK) conferences and workshops is to train participants on an approach that accurately represents the way a successful government of a large nation functions, as well as deepen participants' knowledge of diplomacy and the critical role it plays at a union. Two versions of the Model exist, one, a confederation, similar in its function to the European Union model, the other, a federation, similar to the structure of the United States of America.
Model Islamic Kingdom (MIK) conferences help participants develop public speaking, writing, research, and decision making skills. In addition, they often provide participants with their first entry point into the art of organized and open intellectual debate. Topics include peace and security, human rights, development, and rule of law issues.
Yet MIK conferences can also show participants a glimpse of the potential united ummah, its role in world affairs, and the economic and social welfare it could enjoy. You can choose which branch of government you're interested in, as well as the state/region within the union you're most familiar with.
